Noble (Yang)
The visible helping hand: the person with standing who decides you are worth backing.
What it is
Tian Kui is the benefactor star in its open, daylight form — the mentor, the senior colleague, the person who puts their own name behind yours. What it describes is not luck exactly, but access: doors that exist for everyone and open faster for you because someone with a key noticed you.
It pairs with Noble (Yin), which does the same job out of sight. The tradition splits them along the yang/yin line, and the practical difference is whether the help is announced or simply arranged.
How it actually shows up
It shows up as a pattern rather than an event — a career where, looking back, there is always someone who made an introduction at the right moment. People with this star often underrate how much of that has happened, because from inside it just feels like things working out.
It also runs the other way as they get older. This star produces the senior person who genuinely enjoys backing someone junior, and does it without needing the credit.
What tests it
Situations with no one above you. Noble (Yang) is excellent at being helped and at helping; it is less practised at the stretch where there is nobody more senior to call, and that stretch comes for everyone eventually.
The other test is confusing sponsorship with judgment. Being chosen by someone impressive is genuinely useful and says nothing about whether the thing you are doing is right.
