What it does
Hua Quan is authority and force applied. In the palace it lands on, you have unusual capacity to make things happen — decisions land, resistance gives way.
It is the most double-edged of the four. The same intensity that gets a thing done is the intensity people find hard to be around.
How to read it
Quan in a career palace is straightforwardly good: drive with somewhere to go. Quan in a relationship palace is worth watching — the classics associate it with control exercised over people who did not ask for it.
Paired with 忌 on the same palace, the tradition reads it as force meeting obstruction: effort that produces friction rather than movement. That combination is worth spotting early in a period rather than late.
