The Moon
Picks up what was not said, long before anyone says it.
What it is
Tai Yin is the Sun's pair and its opposite in method. The Sun gives outward and visibly; the Moon accumulates inward and quietly. It is also a wealth star — 富星 — but of the sort that builds rather than earns: property, savings, the slow kind.
The classics tie it to the maternal, to night, and to what is felt rather than declared.
How it actually shows up
Moon-led people register what was not said. Mood, hesitation, the thing someone is working up to — it lands well before the words do, and it is a real perceptual advantage rather than a personality trait.
As with the Sun, placement matters unusually much here: 太阴 in the night branches (酉 through 丑) is at full strength; in the day branches it is described as diminished — the same sensitivity with less protection around it.
What tests it
Absorbing what it senses. Reading the room accurately and taking it personally are hard to separate, and the classics link this star to inward brooding for that reason.
The second test is being asked to be direct. The Moon prefers to work indirectly, and situations that reward bluntness reward someone else.
Look for The Moon on your chart — that palace is where you pick things up before anyone says them.
