Fire
A sudden burst of heat. Very effective, and over quickly.
What it is
Huo Xing is ignition — the flare of temper, the burst of energy, the thing that happens all at once. It is fast and hot and does not sustain, which is exactly what makes it useful in some situations and destructive in others.
The tradition rates it very differently depending on company. With The Wolf it forms one of the classic power configurations — sudden opportunity seized without deliberation. With little support, the same speed just burns whatever was nearby.
How it actually shows up
It shows up as reaction time. People with a strong Fire Star are already moving while others are still assessing, which wins them the situations that reward speed and loses them the ones that punish it.
It also shows up as a temper that arrives and departs faster than anyone around them can process. They have genuinely moved on; the other person has not, and that gap causes more damage than the flare-up did.
What tests it
Anything slow. Fire Star does not do maintenance, follow-through, or the ninth month of a nine-month process, and the things it starts brilliantly often need someone else to finish.
The other test is the aftermath. This star is poorly equipped to notice what the burst cost, because by the time the cost becomes visible its attention is genuinely, blamelessly somewhere else.
