The Maverick
Does it their own way, and it keeps working. The most complicated star in the system.
What it is
Lian Zhen is the hardest of the fourteen to summarise, and the classics say so themselves — it is called 次桃花 (the second peach-blossom star) in one breath and 囚星 (the prison star) in the next. Both are accurate. It is the star of intensity, pointed at whatever it has chosen.
Pointed at a discipline, it produces mastery. Pointed at a person, it produces obsession. The star does not distinguish.
How it actually shows up
Mavericks do it their own way, and it keeps working — which is why they are rarely talked out of anything. There is usually an aesthetic to it too: strong taste, strong opinions about how a thing should be done, low tolerance for the generic.
Charm is part of the package, and it is a sharper charm than 贪狼's. People remember a Lian Zhen.
What tests it
The absence of a worthy object. Intensity with nothing to aim at turns inward, and that is the 囚 reading — self-imposed confinement, the cage being one's own standards.
A 化忌 here is the configuration the classics flag hardest, and the tradition ties it to entanglements that are difficult to leave. Paired with 天府 it stabilises; paired with 七杀 or 破军 it runs hot.
