The Void
The star that empties things out — including, sometimes, the things worth being emptied of.
What it is
Di Kong is emptiness in the structural sense: plans that come to nothing, gains that evaporate, the floor turning out not to be there. The tradition is not gentle about it and there is no point pretending otherwise.
There is a second reading, and it is not a consolation prize. This star also strips away attachment, and charts strong in it produce people who are genuinely unimpressed by the things everyone else is chasing. Whether that reads as loss or as freedom depends largely on what got emptied.
How it actually shows up
It shows up as a life with a discontinuity in it — the career that ended, the plan that dissolved, the thing that was supposed to be permanent and was not. People with this star usually have a clean before-and-after somewhere in their history.
It also shows up as a philosophical streak that arrives early. This is often the person who worked out young that the obvious ladder was not worth climbing, and who has been slightly out of step with their peers ever since.
What tests it
Building anything that requires believing it will last. The Void makes long commitment harder — not because the person is unreliable, but because some part of them is already braced for it to come apart.
The other test is confusing detachment with wisdom. Not wanting things is genuinely liberating and also a very effective way to avoid ever finding out whether you could have had them.
